  • Season 7

The motivations behind the characters were written recklessly, the plot felt flat, and the storytelling was dull considering the filler episodes and insignificant plot lines. Conflicts either resolved too quickly without actually signifying something or they were dragged out for so long that they became ridiculous (yes i meant you sheidheda)

The sad part is it didn’t have to be this way. but i guess that’s what happens when a childish man’s ego gets in the way of his work. It’s too bad that the show turned itself into being simply a by-product of jason’s despot actions and his unprofessionalism

  • The show is trying to impose this narrative of “it had to be done” for 7 years. It’s not just repetitive but it also hurts the storytelling itself since the characters still DARE to act on this lame excuse for all these years. Granted, it was a good theme at the beginning of the show and it was an interesting concept to explore throughout the seasons. However, it has just been far too long to be fixated on the same mantra. The characters evolved, the audience evolved with them so it’s utterly meaningless to turn back to our starting point.

About Bellamy’s death, Clarke claimed that she “had to do it” when in reality, she actually didn’t have to. This justification does NOT work on the audience, so why it worked on the characters?? For years the show went out of its way to convey the message that ends did not justify the means yet once again we’re back to square one, expected to believe other characters’ reaction on Bellamy’s death when all that was said was “it had to be done”.

  • This old vs. new Bellamy was just a cheap attempt to justify his death and it made absolutely no sense. They all believed that this wasn’t their old Bellamy, so it was okay for Octavia and Echo to forgive Clarke and move on just like that. The truth is both Octavia and Echo exchanged ONLY a few words with this so-called “New Bellamy” before the Mcap scene. They did not spend enough time with him to make their minds about Bellamy’s reasoning. They only talked to him when there were guards around, yet they were so sure that the old Bellamy was gone forever and this new one is just irremediable. Echo, whose whole arc for this season was to get vengeance over Bellamy’s death, welcomed Clarke with open arms when she learned about his actual death. They all acted like the person they valued the most was BEYOND saving when in reality he was just trying to save them all.

The Bellamy was the same Bellamy just with a different view on life, it was others (mainly Clarke) who acted out of character. Shame on jason to make these characters unrecognizable to the audience just to satisfy his ego
